About SLS

Our objectives
To encourage listeners and viewers influence and contacts with national, regional and local electronic media, with particular focus on the two public service broadcasters DR and TV 2, and the local grassroots media.

What we do
Supporting public service in Denmark.
Supporting user influence, especially if the stations have public service obligations.
Supporting and working for uniform public service reports.
Supporting the listeners and viewers influence, through legislation.
Supporting that advertisements only can be sent in special discrete blocks, not as a break in shows and movies.
Supporting restricting advertising including advertising aimed at children and adolescents.
Working to give users, of cable / antenna or gatekeeper, widest possible choice of programs.
Working to give users, of cable / antenna or gatekeeper, influence on what programs are available.

What we work for
That the gatekeeper and the cable / antenna companies, brings programs that comply with Danish rules on advertising, for example interruption in movies, programs both for parents, children and adolescents.
To maintain contact and seek influence with relevant organizations, companies and broadcasters who are broadcasting radio and TV programs.
To strengthen international and national collaboration with similar organizations.
To enhance opportunities and economics for the non-commercial local radio and TV stations.
To follow media trends from the users point of interest, and to  work for user influence on new media and distribution.

SLS
Have a right to be heard regarding bills, etc. from Ministries of Research and Culture, and according to Public Service Agreements, also dialogue partner with DR and TV 2
Is represented in ‘Radio and tvnævnet.’ (Danish Ofcom)
Have members in  DR Dialogue Forums.
Is represented in the regional TV stations supporting associations, representatives and boards.
Keeping contact with local grassroots media.
Is a member of EURALVA (European Association of listener and viewer groups).
